The Competitive Spirit

Co-owner of TSB (Team Stickbug). Passionate gamer, accomplished competitor, electrifying commentator, trusted translator & interpreter; are simply a select few of the titles, experience, and references that I bring to the table with any project, job, or initiative with which I am trusted and involved. My love for esports and gaming has taken me around the world, competing as well as bringing a structured presentation of this industry through journalism and translation.

I bring 19 years of Fighting Game Community (FGC) experience in the competitive circuit, run my own gaming organization as an event organizer (Team Stickbug); the premier AFGC event in the country, work with other teams to promote and organize events (Team Spooky/ECT/Big E Gaming/PAG), bring a network of business contacts from gaming companies located around the world, being trusted with the translation of sensitive and important documents in the FGC between Japanese and English and work with a wide swath of gaming companies domestic and abroad, give live interviews of high profile players of all gaming genres in English & Japanese, and have interviewed Yoshinori Ono himself (Director of Street Fighter - Capcom) in Japanese.

I am determined to help esports as a business and fighting games grow in viewership, attendees, outreach, and profile, and also have experience with gaming events, clubs, and leagues held at the collegiate level. The rise of esports related major courses of study at universities today, and collegiate esports leagues/teams offering scholarships to passionate and accomplished young individuals is an important if not overlooked step to the continued growth of esports and gaming - combining higher education with gaming and business - instilling the fundamental points for success that usually only the select few elite players possessed.

Esports has a heart of competition first and foremost, yet a collective love for the games we play and drive to be the best is what unites us as a community. Yet, my passion is not limited to only this industry. My drive to better myself extends to my professional exploits, and knowledge is an ever-evolving part of my life.

Within the world of Esports I go by the handle "Mynus". Educated in New York City and university study in Tokyo, Japan, I've had the privilege to experience the world, education, and gaming/esports from different and unique perspectives.
